In a high-scoring encounter, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) emerged victorious over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 65 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016. The match, played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on May 29, saw a total of 415 runs scored.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, after winning the toss and electing to bat first, posted a formidable total of 2087 runs in their 200 overs, with Extras contributing 14 runs. BCJ Cutting top-scored for SRH with 39 runs, while B Kumar chipped in with 1 run. Royal Challengers Bangalore's bowling attack was led by Jaydev Unadkat, who struck a four on Lockie Ferguson's bowling.
In response, Royal Challengers Bangalore chased down the target with relative ease, courtesy of Heinrich Klaasen's brilliant 49-ball century. Virat Kohli, too, played a pivotal role in the victory with his impressive batting display. SRH's bowlers struggled to contain the RCB batsmen, with only Sunrisers being able to make any significant impact.
The victory solidified Royal Challengers Bangalore's position at the top of the IPL 2016 points table. They will now face Mumbai Indians in the Qualifier 1 match on May 30, while Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Gujarat Lions in the Eliminator match on May 28.
